Submitting a report, complaint, or objection
You can contact the municipality for various reasons, such as submitting a report about the public space, filing a complaint or making an objection. It is advisable to use the appropriate channel for your specific situation. Below, you will find the available options.
You can always contact the municipality for general inquiries, comments, ideas, or compliments. For this, refer to Contact with the municipality, or send an email to: gemeente@uithoorn.nl.
Is a streetlight defective? Have you found an abandoned bike in the park? Do you see litter next to the garbage bin? Are there loose paving stones? Is there a hazardous traffic situation? Is there a problem with the street's drainage? Or are you bothered by overgrown weeds? Report it to the municipality. This is what we call a 'public space report'.
Go to the Submitting a report about public space page for this.
You may feel poorly treated by someone from the municipality. In that case, you can file a complaint about the service. The municipality will then investigate what exactly happened. There is an official procedure for such a complaint.
Go to the Filing a complaint about municipal services page for this.
The municipality makes decisions and plans. This could involve your benefit, your permit, or a subsidy. It could also concern the layout of your environment. If you disagree with such a decision, you can file an objection. There are rules for this. For example, you must file an objection within 6 weeks of such a decision.
